Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 8, 2026
Overview
Playlistly ("we", "us", "our") operates a Telegram bot that helps Telegram groups curate collaborative YouTube playlists through a simple voting system. We are committed to protecting your privacy.
Playlistly uses YouTube API Services. By using our service, you also agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
Third-Party Services
Playlistly integrates with the following third-party API service:
- YouTube API Services (Google) — to read your YouTube playlists and add approved videos to your chosen playlist on your behalf. See the Google Privacy Policy.
You can revoke Playlistly's access to your Google/YouTube account at any time via your Google account permissions page.
Information We Collect
When you use Playlistly, we process the following information:
- Telegram data: Telegram chat IDs, user IDs, message IDs, and the content of messages containing YouTube links — necessary to run votes and execute playlist actions.
- OAuth tokens: Google OAuth tokens obtained when a group admin authorises Playlistly to manage a YouTube playlist. These are stored securely on our servers to act on your behalf.
- Group settings: Configuration data such as the selected target playlist and approval threshold.
- Diagnostics: Minimal server logs used for reliability monitoring and abuse prevention.
We do not collect or store your Google account password. We do not access any YouTube data beyond what is strictly necessary to provide the playlist management service.
Purpose and Legal Basis
We process your data to:
- Provide the Playlistly service you requested (contractual necessity).
- Maintain service reliability and prevent abuse (legitimate interests).
- Comply with applicable legal obligations (legal compliance).
Data Retention
We retain data only as long as necessary:
- OAuth tokens and group settings are kept until you revoke access or remove Playlistly from your group.
- Voting and proposal history is kept to provide statistics and may be deleted upon request.
- Diagnostic logs are automatically rotated and deleted on a rolling schedule.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your data. We share data only with processors strictly necessary to run the service, including hosting infrastructure providers. These processors are bound by appropriate data protection agreements. No personal data is shared with advertisers or marketing platforms.
Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted transport (HTTPS/TLS), securely stored OAuth tokens with limited scopes, and restricted access controls. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Your Rights
Under applicable data protection laws (including the EU General Data Protection Regulation — GDPR) you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction or deletion of your data.
- Withdraw consent at any time by removing Playlistly from your group and revoking Google OAuth access via Google account permissions.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Cookies and Local Storage
Playlistly is a Telegram bot and does not use browser cookies or tracking technologies. Our web pages (including this one) do not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers.
Children's Privacy
Playlistly is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
